 MAGIC

May you find magic in the waking of dawn

sprinkling radiance beneath the moon

nudging the light into a miracle of day

May you find your way in daffodils

running on hills with wild flowers

free to do nothing but grow under the sun

May you find faith in the arms of a storm

gusting winds scraping up dust inspiring to trust

ominous clouds and all-- settling for nothing less

May you find peace in the rainbow that follows

soaking rain by the glow of one droplet

knowing without pain there is no joy

May you find stars in the clear black sky

gazing down in puddled pools of night

reflecting the mystery- never questioning why

(This poem can also, be read starting from the

bottom line, line-by-line, to the top).

                     FENG SHUI By Dolores Kozielski

Wind speaks
conversation of green mornings
flower talk
long nights in woods
of creeks day glistening
conferring with conifers
Silence-- the voice of air
kissing his
friend sun
lover moon
discussing tree trysts
wind-wings
that ride on Spring's
back yard chimes
Summer haze
hot with breath
Autumn tongues
chitchat of leaves
chrysanthemums
breeze
Winter’s companion
white with snow
profound dialogue of tears
rain speaking
hum-listening
Water hears

A Calling

by Dolores Kozielski

 A cardinal is circling around the Japanese Cherry;

Flame licking sun, red bird touching wind, as Leaf--orb become one world

Throating a melody resting on the tree branch a song bird lights

The Five Elements Of Silence

Copyright ©2007, photo by Dolores Kozielski

If silence was water,
a libation,
I would drink the beginning of creation

If silence was a tree,
I would grow into the universe
and root myself in eternity

If silence was fire,
I would flicker a bright light
lower--higher
inside, outside of being

If silence was metal,
I would shape myself--settle
into all possibility

If silence was earth,
I would lie down
blanket the ground and
look up at a zillion stars

In Time

 By Dolores Kozielski

There is

in the distance

a blind sunset

where earth goes down

believing in morning

dawn brings its sighted gift

new lambent frost

amid daybreak’s ooze

street lamps dim

the march of squirrels begin

another day

blinks a pink sky

one universal eye

into a new millennium

This poem was selected as a winner in Millennium Portals published by Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission  in conjunction with Cherry Hill Township. Copyright© 2003 by Dolores Kozielski

I Walk In Leaves

I see them dance
in wind-born sun
I hear their song
they clap in breeze
waltz down streets
swing on eaves
their red tongues hum
a tree tune
Rust taps-- brown beats
blow down upon the ground
on lawns-- on walks
they skip-- they twirl
curl up side-by-side
they wait to ride the sky
Their song and dance is Fall
They are the steps
the notes that float on air
in tones of gold
ringing down one by one
in glee gusts
a glad score
from tree tops
by the sides
to my heels
on the soles of my shoes
I DANCE IN LEAVES

An Orange Moon

LUNA  MEDITATION

I see the face of moon

reflecting in my eyes

as I beach-walk at water’s edge

there’s a glimmer of round orange love

Somewhere-- out on a cliff--unafraid

caught up in its own music of madness

yearning for that light so near

yet so far away-- I am wolf

shivering with awe…

 On a park bench

by a tree

I’m  lover alone

under this celestial orb…

In a field plucking ripe grapes

by glory of day

I notice this lunar ghost

floating balloon-like in a splendid sky

so high that in one craning-- one glance

I'm in  love with this distant sphere

I need to fill up on moon

 mind-dancing

in quiet meditation of seeing

a globe pregnant

with all possibility

I am moon

waxing, waning,

pulling the heartstrings of tides

just being sO full

PUT ME IN A TAXI

Put me in a Taxi

tell me that I’m sexy

drive me to Manhattan

in my denim jeans

buy me some black patent

dress me up in satin

take me straight to Broadway

in my New York dreams

Put me in a taxi

tell me that I’m sexy

ride through Staten Island

take me back to Queens

tell me I’m beguilin’

I will sure be smilin’

dress me in silk stockings

with those smooth black seams

Put me in a taxi

tell me that I’m sexy

carry me to Brooklyn

then off to the Bronx

tell me I’m good lookin’

now that I am cookin’

holler out the window

when the traffic honks

Put me in a taxi

tell me that I’m sexy

up to the Apollo

through the Harlem streets

c’mon Honey follow

Oh yeah Baby hello

fit me with some tap shoes

with wide heals and cleats

I don’t want a limo

I don’t want a sport’s car

I don’t want a chauffeur

he won’t know the way

flash a little cleavage

I’ll be stoppin’ traffic

whistle me a taxi

take me to Broadway

Up and down the West Side

over to the East Side

take me all through Midtown

give me a slick cane

put me in a top hat

put me in a taxi

take me straight to Broadway

in my New York dreams

take me straight to Broadway In my New York dreams

RESURGERE

(For all those who have suffered and are suffering)

by Dolores Kozielski

I have wandered into Gethsemane

I sit on hard ground by rock darkness

Family-- like disciples-- cannot stay awake--

comfort me-- I confront this night alone

in overwhelming grief -- I ask-- let it be gone

still--no answer awakens my heart

I am betrayed by my own body

given up in a trial like Pilate’s ennui

scourged by a scalpel of awareness--

with chemotherapy that shows no mercy

I am crowned with my own mortality

stripped of my hair--given a burden to bear

upon my arms-- doctors place it

with blunt truth of infusions-- injections-- drugs

I stumble upon the lonely road to Golgotha

pain-filled days of inquisition

I am nailed-- nine months--upon agony’s bed

wracked with isolation --where thoughts find no solace

in a brain change of swirling chemicals

I am forsaken-- yet-- my mind has awakened

from the core of spirit--depth of soul

I am baptized by fire—fever-- from my own sweat

I am taken down--wrapped in a shroud of the unknown

left in the tomb-- a shelter that soon becomes my home

my worldly eyes-- shut off --but never my inner vision

the stone is rolled--blocking each day where no light escapes

I am a black whole-- totally gone

I die a Paschal death

Family-- friends cannot bring me back

I hear no words -- my ears go deaf

only the power of The Lamb can reach me

by letting go…

The stone moves a little each day—light steams in

God gives the command

with the voice of an angel—“Arise and go”

unlike Lazarus-- I wake unclothed

knowing it is Easter morning

I am raised into a new reflection--an oracle of resurrection

where night is a gift and each day-- new life

in the Kingdom that has come.
