DOLORES KOZIELSKI, NJ AUTHOR, WRITER, POET, SONGWRITER & ARTIST 

Practicing her art in NJ (Cherry Hill Area), PA (Philadelphia area) and DE   

• Author of seven children's books, with over 700 riddles and jokes, published by major publishing houses including HarperCollins and Scholastic.

• Contributor to Chicken Soup for the Soul Healthy Living Series/Stress; Sister's Soul 2;  Beach Lover's Soul and Coffee Lover's Soul.

• Award-winning, NJ writer and poet whose work has been exhibited and published in many literary journals and magazines.

• Award-winning artist whose work, The Annunciation, has won a juror’s award at the Perkins Center for the Arts, Moorestown, NJ. The Annunciation , The Pantocrator meaning Ruler of all, and St. Michael The Archangel are Sacred Icons. Icons have a spiritual and healing property through meditation and through writing (painting).

• Iconography is a spiritual art form, along with its study. An Icon is said to be a heavenly image written onto the wood by the iconographer, much like the writers of the gospels, manifested through the spirit of God, and brought down to an earthly plane.

• Attended Philadelphia College of Art.

• Studied Chinese Brush Stroke for four years with master artist, Sr. Mary Gavin, M.M.S. a Medical Mission Sister who resides in Montgomery County, PA.

• Studied the art of iconography with Dorothy Pere who learned the art form with a Russian Monk. 

• Married to Joseph W. Kozielski, M.D., Chief of  Orthopedic Surgery, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ,  Dr. Kozielski  also practices at Virtua Health Systems in Voorhees, New Jersey.
